An essential part of our business is producing bees and raising Queens. We have chosen to work with our Buckfast stock because of their exceptional qualities; gentleness, excellent honey production, lack of swarming and resistance to disease.
In 2011 we raised more than 1000 locally mated Buckfast Queens. We selected our breeder Queens from our best honey producing colonies for breeding purposes, and most of our Nucs are headed by their daughters. Our customers were delighted with our girls …. We look forward to continuing our work this season and to providing you with the best quality bees and Queens there are.
Our business is expanding and we have moved to a new and spacious workshop (compared to the garden shed we had before!). We now have fully assembled hives ready to go (in limited numbers). And from late summer we are planning to manufacture flat packed hives aimed for those beekeepers who appreciate both good quality and value for money.
